Public transport in Budapest

Wheelchair users who would like to travel with public transport in the capital are not really indulged – though the number of accessible trams, buses and trolleys keep increasing.
In the beginning of last year 38 pieces of Volvo 7700 bus and 31 pieces of Mercedes Citaro bus were placed into transport. The accessible Combino tram has been carrying passengers for 5-6 years.
The new subway car – Alstom is also accessible and on the recently inaugurated metro line 4 you can reach the stations with the help of a lift. According to latest news the accessible Combino tram will run on the line of tram number 1. and 3. after track renewal.
In more and more underpaths and metro stations visually impaired passengers can find blind-friendly information which helps them in transport.
